Constantly searching for creativity and passionate about scientific research, a team of engineers and technical staff of the Central Electricity Electronic Measurement Equipment Manufacturing Center (CPCEMEC) has successfully researched and manufactured the first quick charging stations for electric vehicle in Viet Nam, deployed the installation of charging stations for the Central Power Corporation as well as cooperated in testing the electric vehicle charging station connected to solar power with Viet Nam Oil Corporation (PVOIL).

As reported by Mr. Thai Thanh Nam, the Director of CPCEMEC, in recognition of the process to build and develop ‘Made in Viet Nam’ products and solutions, CPCEMEC was awarded the National Quality Gold Award by the Prime Minister in 2018, along with being one of the few Vietnamese business representatives to win the Asia-Pacific Quality Award in 2019.

These noble awards are an honour, pride and also a great motivation for CPCEMEC to improve the quality and superiority of products, bring more value to customers as well as the electricity industry, and at the same time, affirm the reputation of the company that produces measurement equipment and solutions to serve Viet Nam’ electricity businesses and provide products and the services of international quality stature.

Recently, the Daiwa Viet Nam Co., Ltd. The Hoa Khanh Industrial Park, Lien Chieu District, Da Nang was one of the 22 organisations/enterprises across the country that was awarded the National Quality Gold Award by the Prime Minister. It is known that Daiwa Viet Nam Co., Ltd. belongs to Globeride Group, is a large foreign-invested enterprise in Da Nang , with a staff of about 4,000 people. This is also the leading enterprise in Viet Nam producing fishing rods and spinning reels for only export to the world market.

According to Mr. Nguyen Van Phu, the Director of the company, being awarded the National Quality Gold Award is the motivation for the company to improve the efficiency of production activities.

These are two out of the five typical businesses in the city that have won the National Quality Gold Award - the only quality award, regulated in the Law on Product and Goods Quality and under Asia-Pacific International Award system to honour typical organisations and businesses with outstanding achievements in production and business activities, enhancing productivity and quality, creating many high-quality, competitive products, goods and services, and actively contribute to the socio-economic development.

In 2023, the city’s National Quality Award Preliminary Council has proposed the Da Nang Department of Science and Technology to request the National Council to award the National Quality Gold Award for CPCEMEC and the National Quality Award for Bien Dong Automatic Electrical Technology Engineering Co., Ltd - Da Nang Branch located in the Da Nang High-Tech Park, Hoa Vang District.

The municipal Department of Science and Technology has so far developed a plan to implement activities to participate in the 2024 National Quality Award.

According to the municipal Department of Science and Technology, businesses participating in the award are evaluated based on 7 criteria of the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award, namely leadership role; strategic planning; customer orientation; measurement, knowledge analysis and management; human resource orientation; operational process management.

Participating in the annual National Quality Awards is an opportunity for businesses to learn and self-review, evaluate their management system objectively and find areas that need improvement to improve business efficiency, through which they can have the chance to achieve the Asian Pacific Quality Awards.
