The electronic toll collection (ETC) system will be officially and simultaneously implemented at the busy airports of Noi Bai, Cat Bi, Phu Bai, Da Nang and Tan Son Nhat from May 5, the Airports Corporation of Viet Nam (ACV) recently announced.

The move aims to reduce traffic congestion at airport entrances and exits, as well as create more convenience for customers and enhance passenger service quality.

At the Tan Son Nhat, Noi Bai and Da Nang airports, vehicles entering and exiting within 10 minutes are charged VND10,000 for cars with less than nine seats, VND15,000 for cars with 10-30 seats, and VN25,000 for cars with 30 seats or more.

The remaining airports charge VN5,000 , VND10,000, VND15,000 and VND25,000 for cars less than nine seats, 10-16 seats, 16-29 seats and 30 seats, respectively.

Vehicles entering the airport for more than 10 minutes are charged an additional car parking service fee.

Following the expected application at the cited airports, the ETC system is slated to be applied for seaport, parking, insurance, and vehicle technical checking services.
