Sixteen restaurants in Da Nang have for the first time joined the Bib Gourmand list of Michelin Guide that honours dining establishments for serving great food at affordable prices. This is really a golden opportunity for the city's tourism industry to promote and spread the unique values of Da Nang culinary culture to domestic and international tourists.

As one of the 16 dining establishments in the city to receive the Bib Gourmand award honored by the Michelin Guide, Mr. Tran Quang, the General Manager of Be Ni Restaurant 2, said this is an award recognising the efforts of the restaurant's leadership team and all employees over the past 10 years.

The quality of ingredients, the freshness of each dish, the customer experience through impressive service style and clean space are always the factors that the restaurant puts first. After more than a week of being honoured, the number of customers and revenue of the restaurant increased by about 20% compared to before.

According to Mr. Quang, being honored by the Michelin Guide is both an opportunity y a challenge for the restaurant and Da Nang cuisine as a whole. This not only creates a brand for Da Nang cuisine, attracting tourists to experience it, but also spreads the cultural and culinary values of Central Viet Nam, to domestic and international friends.

“We are very proud to be honoured by the Michelin Guide. We will continue to focus on food quality; training and improving skills for staff to meet the needs of customers," Mr. Quang said.

Meanwhile, Nu Do Kitchen has been honoured to be one of the dining establishments and restaurants honoured on the Michelin Selected 2024 list.

Ms. Pham Thi Tuyet, the owner of the Nu Do Kitchen brand, said that being honoured and recommended by the Michelin Guide is not only an important piece in the overall "picture" of bringing Da Nang cuisine to the world, but also demonstrates the continuous efforts exerted by the entire Nu Do Kitchen team in bringing traditional culinary experiences to domestic and international customers.

Besides finding a delicious restaurant at a reasonable price, what tourists want is to connect with the local culture, people and customs through the dishes they enjoy.

Therefore, tourism through cuisine is an effective cultural “bridge”. This is also Nu Do Kitchen's orientation in positioning its customer base from incorporating the story of Quang noodle culture, instructing visitors how to enjoy it to feel all the flavours and making adjustments to characteristics and traditions of Quang noodles to make them become international flavours suitable for modern tastes.

According to Ms. Tuyet, the fact that Da Nang's cuisine has been honoured by Michelin Guide will create new attraction for tourists to experience. Therefore, the honoured restaurants and food establishments should ceaselessly enhance quality and customer experience to maintain the brand reputation.

On the other hand, human resources are also an important factor in bringing a good experience to customers, so they must always be ready to meet customers’ needs and tastes, avoiding affecting the development of the brand. In addition, the Michelin Guide team will return to evaluate and search for new dining establishments and restaurants. If these restaurants do not meet the criteria, they will be not recommended.

“We will continue our journey of promoting Da Nang cuisine to the world through precision, sophistication, sublimation of flavour and the integration of cultural and human values so that visitors can be satisfied with Da Nang tourism.”, Ms. Tuyet added.

It is known that, joining Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang has become the third Vietnamese destination scouted by the MICHELIN Guide Inspectors with 36 establishments honoured, 16 restaurants in the Bib Gourmand list, 19 entries in Michelin Selected.

Notably, La Maison 1888 at the InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort received one Michelin star.

Nen Danang has become the first and only restaurant in Vietnam to be awarded a Michelin Green Star, for its commitment to sustainable gastronomy and efforts to promote the use of local ingredients. This is an award honoring pioneering dining establishments aiming to build a sustainable cuisine, providing an experience that combines culinary excellence and a serious commitment to environmental friendliness.

The Da Nang Department of Tourism will, in the coming time, develop communication plans to promote Michelin star restaurants and and disseminate the 5 Michelin criteria to inspire and help restaurants and establishments in the city to enhance their services so that more Da Nang-based restaurants can be present on the list, thereby, creating new attraction for the city tourism, increasing competitiveness and attracting domestic and international tourists.

Considered a culinary paradise representing the essence of the central region, Da Nang attracts food enthusiasts and anonymous experts, with its e xceptional quality dishes and rich culinary heritage.
