Retired teacher and handmade crochet enthusiast, Mrs Cao Thi Thu Van, residing in Thanh Khe Dong Ward, Thanh Khe District, decided to venture into a business with handmade wool products. To meet the growing and diverse demands of customers, Mrs Van continually learns to improve her skills, releasing many attractive models from wool, such as bags, wallets, hats, clothes, souvenirs, flowers, and animals.

Especially on holidays like March 8 and October 20, such products as flowers and souvenirs receive numerous orders as gifts. Discussing her passion, Mrs Van shared: "Previously, due to my love for yarn knitting, I learned the craft online and made small products for myself and my family. Later, the products I made were loved and ordered by many friends and acquaintances".

Currently, Mrs Van's handmade yarn products are sold online through social media and e-commerce platforms. With attractive prices, beautiful designs, and quality care, her handmade products are increasingly gaining attention and support from customers. Depending on the design, the products range from VND 15,000 to 500,000 per item, catering to customers in many provinces and cities across the country.

Mrs Van said she is currently encouraging women and students with the same passion and interest in her ward to form a group, provide free vocational training, create more jobs for local workers, and bring products to more customers.

"The market for this business field is currently attracting many skillful young people. However, to develop in this profession, each person needs to explore and create unique models with distinct identities to win customers with originality and novelty," Mrs Van said.

Meanwhile, Mrs Nguyen Ngoc Kim Anh, residing in Hoa Tien Commune, Hoa Vang District, devotes her passion to glutinous rice wine, hoping to preserve the traditional flavours of the nation. Establishing her company at the age of 24, she faced many challenges, from raising capital to competing with other products on the market. She had to spend time learning and continuously striving to perfect the production and business processes.

So far, Ai Lam glutinous rice wine has received a 3-star OCOP certification and was honoured as a typical rural industrial product of the city in 2023. Sharing about the wine production process, Mrs Kim Anh said that making pure glutinous rice wine requires skill, meticulousness, and efforts from the rice cooking stage, yeast mixing, fermentation, and rice aging. Every month, she sells more than 200 liters of wine, with prices starting at VND 120,000 per product. Currently, she employs 10 people. She hopes to bring her product to larger markets to promote traditional Vietnamese glutinous rice wine to the younger generation and the international community.

Mrs Tran Thi Kim, President of the Hoa Vang District Women's Union, said that the district's women's entrepreneurship movement has been vibrant and positive recently. The union members are very creative and diligent in learning and finding new business directions.

"In the future, we will continue to proactively gather information on members with appropriate needs to promptly support and help expand business production and economic development. Thanks to the above capital sources, members with needs have additional investment channels for production and business development to improve income and living standards," Mrs. Kim said.
