Recently, the municipal administration has given the green light to call on investment in three new IPs, Hoa Cam - phase 2, Hoa Nhon and Hoa Ninh. During the 2020-2030 period, the three new IPs will come into operation with a total area of about 880 hectares.

As a result, the city has 9 industrial parks defined, of which 7 are included in the planning for the development of IPs in Viet Nam, an industrial park will be  partially converted (the Da Nang Seafood Service IP), and the other will be converted outside the planning of the city's IPs in the coming period (the Da Nang IP).

During the 2022-2025 period, with a vision to 2030, the city will add a new IP to its planning. The total area of the 4 new IPs is expected to be about 1,227.58 ha.

According to Mr. Vu Quang Hung, Head of the Authority of the Da Nang Hi-Tech Park and Industrial Parks, the unit has done some related procedures to select suitable investors for the construction of the Hoa Cam IP - Phase 2 in Cam Le District’s Hoa Tho Tay Ward, and Hoa Vang District’s Hoa Nhon Commune, and the Hoa Nhon IP in the namesake Commune in Hoa Vang District.

Regarding the Hoa Ninh IP in Hoa Vang District, the Authority continues to propose to the municipal People's Committee on the procedures for approving the project's technical infrastructure investment policy.

Between 2020 and 2030, the city will consider forming a priority list to attract investment in the new IPs compatible with the structure of concentrated IPs in neighboring areas, such as Hoa Nhon - Hoa Cam cluster at phase 1 , Hoa Cam IP at phase 2 or a cluster of Hoa Ninh - High-tech Park - Concentrated Information Technology Park - Hoa Lien industrial cluster, in a bid to form linked clusters or satellite IPs to attract businesses in the value chain to operate as a complete production chain.

Speeding up the progress of industrial parks and clusters is an urgent requirement because there is not much industrial land left in the city. IN PHOTO: Production activities at the Huynh Duc Production - Trade and Service Company Limited based in Lien Chieu District. Photo: MAI QUE

Cam Le industrial cluster soon to be put into operation

According to the Industry and Trade Promotion Center under the Da Nang Department of Industry and Trade - the unit managing, operating and exploiting the technical infrastructure of the Cam Le Industrial Cluster, about 100 enterprises have registered to invest in the cluster.

Registering enterprises must meet environmental requirements as prescribed in Article 53 of the Law on Environmental Protection and Decree No. 08/2022/ND-CP dated January 10, 2022 guiding the Law on Environmental Protection, and at the same time other criteria such as current production location; business subjects; production products; fulfillment of obligations according to law; financial capacity; and labour use policy.

Currently, the Cam Le Industrial Cluster has not been handed over and put into operation due to the incompletion of acceptance procedures by the State management agency and the lack of synchronisation of traffic and drainage infrastructure.

Mrs. Le Thi Kim Phuong, Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, informed that in the third quarter of 2024, the department will complete and submit to the municipal People's Committee for approval the list of enterprises investing in the Cam Le Industrial Cluster.

At the same time, the Department will coordinate with the district authorities to temporarily hand over the site to the enterprise to carry out the detailed planning at a scale of 1:500 and design factories.

Regarding other industrial clusters, the municipal People's Council has issued Resolution No. 12/NQ-HDND dated May 24, 2024 on adjusting the investment policy of the Supporting Industrial Park project serving the Da Nang Hi-tech Park.

At the same time, the city is implementing related procedures to put the Hoa Lien Industrial Cluster into operation; as well as issuing a set of criteria for selecting investors to build technical infrastructure for the Hoa Nhon Industrial Cluster.

From now until the end of the year, the Department of Industry and Trade will coordinate with relevant units and localities to carry out procedures for investment preparation, site clearance, and selection of investors to build technical infrastructure for the Hoa Nhon and Hoa Khanh Nam industrial clusters; as well as to carry out procedures so that the Cam Le Industrial Cluster can soon come into operation.
