Da Nang conference discusses prospects for S. Korea-Viet Nam ICT investment cooperation

Many South Korean information and communication technology enterprises operating Viet Nam are showing their keen interest in switching their investment methods from traditional manufacturing to high-tech industries.

Mr. Kang Boo Sung, Consul General of South Korea in Da Nang, made the remarks at a conference on the prospects of Viet Nam-South Korea's ICT investment cooperation held in the city on Friday.

The conference provided the good opportunity for Korean enterprises to learn about the ICT investment environment in Central Viet Nam in general and Da Nang in particular; as well as connect, promote and further expand investment cooperation between Korean and Vietnamese enterprises.

Also, it aimed to share diverse perspectives on the current state of the RoK’s semiconductor industry, which has garnered significant attention from Viet Nam, insights from VKIST experts, as well as the prospects of the sides’ ICT cooperation from the viewpoint of their younger generations.

Mr. Tran Ngoc Thach, Deputy Director of the municipal Department of Information and Communications, said that the RoK remained among key nations in Da Nang’s investment attraction policy. He added that the city has been proposing and building groups of policies and solutions to achieve its set goals, with a focus on 3 groups of solutions on infrastructure, human resources and preferential policies.
