Vietnamese Ambassador to Malaysia Dinh Ngoc Linh suggested the city actively lure more Malaysian tourists, and promote the establishment of friendly relations and cooperation with Malacca City.

He underlined the need for the city to study and build a synchronous mechanism to spur intra-bloc tourism, and develop international educational facilities to attract tourist markets of ASEAN countries, including Malaysia.

Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Anh Thi thanked Ambassador Dinh Ngoc Linh for his warm welcome to the delegation, and informed about the city’s socio-economic development situation and orientation in the coming time.

At the same time, she requested the Vietnamese Embassy in Malaysia to soon connect Da Nang and Malacca City; coordinate in providing information on events and exhibitions in Malaysia; support Da Nang enterprises to attend these events; and conduct market survey in Malaysia as well as mobilise Malaysian businesses to participate in the International East-West Economic Corridor (EWEC) Trade and Tourism Fair and the conference on trade connection, and export and investment promotion held in the city.

She proposed that the ambassador support Da Nang to exchange experiences with Malaysia in the implementation of the family doctor, non-communicable disease management and digital transformation models; the application of information technology in medical examination and treatment activities; and the operation of the Malaysia International Financial Centre at the Tun Razak Exchange (TRX) complex in Kuala Lumpur and the Free Trade Zones of Port Klang and Tanjung Pelepas.

The city leader asked for help from the Vietnamese Embassy in Malaysia to support in inviting overseas Vietnamese to attend the Viet Nam - ASEAN Festival scheduled to be held in Da Nang to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Viet Nam being an official member of ASEAN.
