Bringing Da Nang golf tourism's stature to international level
The BRG Open Golf Championship Da Nang 2024 just ended at the end of August with the victory of an Indian golfer, thereby making a strong impression on the golfing community. After three consecutive years (2022, 2023, 2024) of successfully hosting this sports event, Da Nang is gradually positioning itself as one of the leading golf tourism destinations, contributing to the development of high-quality tourism according to the city’s set orientation.

The BRG Open Golf Championship Da Nang tournament belongs to the Asian Development Tour (ADT) system, bringing together most of the golfers leading the ADT Prize Ranking. Every year, the BRG Open Golf Championship Da Nang is assessed and praised by experts for its high professional quality and full of attraction and surprise.
According to the Da Nang Department of Tourism, Da Nang owns three international-class golf courses: Legend Da Nang Golf Resort system (including Nicklaus and Norman courses), and Ba Na Hills Golf Club. These golf courses feature unique terrain, designed by experienced legendary golfers, enhancing the experience for players, so after three years of organising the BRG Open Golf Championship Da Nang, it is considered to be an opportunity for Da Nang to promote and attract visitors from this potential market.
As the champion of the BRG Open Golf Championship Da Nang 2024, Rahil Gangjee, a golfer from India, said that this central coastal Vietnamese city boasts the advantage of a beautiful, modern golf course system, along with good golf infrastructure and a convenient location near the airport and the sea.. He believes that Da Nang can become a city, a good golf tourism destination in the world.
Sharing the same view, Vice President and General Secretary of the Viet Nam Golf Association Vu Nguyen said that the diversity of golf courses in Da Nang, and the Central Viet Nam, is a great advantage to attract this type of customer. According to Mr. Nguyen, golfers often go on tours and want to experience playing golf at many different courses, so the diversity of courses is the reason to attract international golf tourists.
Through the BRG Open Golf Championship Da Nang seasons, golf tourism in Da Nang, the Central Viet Nam in particular, and Viet Nam in general, is gradually being affirmed. In the future, the association will coordinate to organise international golf tournaments, attracting many golfers around the world.

With an intention of increasing connectivity and cooperation with golf market guests, within the framework of the BRG Open Golf Championship Da Nang 2024, the city welcomed a famtrip delegation of 20 international golf travel representatives from key markets such as Japan, Taiwan (China), Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines and Singapore to experience golf tourism services and survey tourist destinations in Da Nang and neighbouring Quang Nam Province.
Mr. Wang Tien Bao, Mr. Wang Tien Bao, Senior Marketing Director for Sports and Tourism at Lion Travel and a member of the Famtrip delegation, stated: “The golf courses in Da Nang are very conveniently located near the airport and key city areas, making transportation easy. The golf infrastructure is high quality and well-maintained, with reasonable costs and excellent hotel infrastructure. I hope the golf courses can offer more tee times at different hours to enhance the customer experience".
In the coming time, Lion Travel plans to cooperate with Starlux Airlines to organise a golf tournament in Central Viet Nam with the participation of more than 110 golfers.
According to BRG Group Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Nga, the successful hosting of the BRG Open Golf Championship for three consecutive years, each year more successful than the previous one, with the participation of many leading golfers in the region and the country, has contributed to affirming the position of Da Nang, as well as Viet Nam at large, as a leading golf destination in the region and the world.
Mr. Ken Kudo, General Manager of the ADT, said that the third season of the BRG Open Golf Championship Da Nang has ended successfully. Da Nang owns many world-class golf courses with high-class infrastructure and tourism services, bringing wonderful experiences to Vietnamese and international golfers.
This is the basis for Da Nang to aim for larger, higher-quality and more attractive tournaments, helping to connect Vietnamese golfers and Da Nang tourism with other parts of the world. It can be seen that the city’s successful organisation of events continues to contribute to affirming Da Nang as ‘Asia’s leading event and festival destination’.
This is considered to be an important milestone in developing the city's golf tourism potential to become one of the leading golf tourism destinations in Asia and the world at large, contributing to promoting the development of high-quality tourism in the right direction.
