PM Pham Minh Chinh urges completion of expressway in Da Nang by August 2025

Prime Minister (PM) Pham Minh Chinh on Sunday inspected the actual construction and site clearance of the Hoa Lien-Tuy Loan expressway construction project as part of the North-South expressway east of Da Nang, the Tuy Loan intersection, the 90-hectare land area planned to build a free trade zone in Hoa Ninh Commune, Hoa Vang District, and visited the Hy Vong (Hope) School in FPT City Urban Area.

Praising Da Nang, and Hoa Vang District in particular, in site clearance work

At the construction site of the Hoa Lien-Tuy Loan expressway section, PM Pham Minh Chinh inspected,  presented gifts to the construction teams and praised their strong dedication to working through challenging conditions. He also commended Da Nang, especially Hoa Vang District, for mobilising the entire political system for land clearance, ensuring legal rights and benefits for displaced residents in accordance with the national government's direction.

It is known that the more than 11-kilometre stretch of the North-South Expressway through Hoa Vang District in Da Nang. The project, which began in September 2023, is expected to be completed by December 2025.

The PM urged Da Nang to complete land clearance by September 2024 and for construction units to accelerate work to finish the expressway before August 30, 2025, in celebration of the 80th National Day and the upcoming Party Congress, aiming for 3,000 kilometres of expressways nationwide by the end of 2025, as outlined in the Party’s 13th Congress resolution.

He explained that the entire area along the eastern expressway section of Hoa Lien - Tuy Loan is developing very strongly in industry and high technology. Therefore, there must be an expressly for container trucks for smooth movements so as to reduce logistics costs, creating competitiveness. This project is of great socio-economic and political significance.

Assigning Da Nang as investor of Tuy Loan Interchange Project

This time, the PM inspected the Tuy Loan interchange at the beginning of the Da Nang – Quang Ngai Expressway and the Hoa Lien – Tuy Loan Expressway, with National Route 14B in Hoa Vang District. After inspection, he agreed to separate the Tuy Loan Interchange from the Da Nang - Quang Ngai Expressway project, forming an independent project and assigning Da Nang as the investor of the project.

He requested that the interchange be built at a different level from the expressway, with national government budget’s support covering 50 per cent of the cost.

This project not only helps to synchronously complete the traffic infrastructure of the Da Nang - Quang Ngai Expressway, but also connects with the eastern expressway project of Hoa Lien - Tuy Loan section and National Highway 14B.

“This project must be completed by September 2025, with simplified procedures,” the PM directed.

Research on the Da Nang Free Trade Zone 

When inspecting the 5th location planned to build the Da Nang Free Trade Zone (FTZ) in Hoa Ninh Commune, Hoa Vang District which is planned to be the first of its kind in Viet Nam, the PM underlined a need to further study the FTZ building methods in other foreign countries to absorb the civilization of mankind but must be suitable to the actual situation and comply with Vietnamese laws in an effort to exploit the maximum potential, opportunities, and competitiveness of Da Nang for brighter future development.

10,000 vaccinations for children and women in Da Nang

On Sunday afternoon, PM Pham Minh Chinh visited the Hy Vong (Hope) School in Da Nang. This boarding school, invested in and built by FPT Corporation (one of the largest information technology service companies in Viet Nam) accommodates children who lost their parents in the Covid-19 pandemic.

Established in September 2021, the school has seen six enrolment periods with over 300 students from 43 provinces and 13 ethnic groups across the country. Hope School is the only place in Viet Nam to receive a prestigious global award for sustainable development with a nomination for ‘Most Impressive Global Community Activity’ at the global CSR and ESG awards. The school’s students have also won numerous national and city-level academic awards.

The PM expressed his joy and appreciation for the achievements of the school, especially the students in the 2023-2024 school year, and many of them have passed the university and vocational entrance exams.

At the same time, he advised the school’s pupils must preserve the good feelings, cultural traditions, ethics, and heritage of national solidarity and must develop them to new heights in the new era. In the new school year, students should continue to study diligently, improve their knowledge, practice health and ethics…

In addition to comprehensive knowledge and skills training, FPT Corporation needs to orient the school’s pupils to study majors relating to new emerging industries and professions, especially those in which FPT Corporation has the conditions to recruit outstanding graduates such as software engineering, artificial intelligence (AI) and semiconductor chips.

The Party, the State and the people of the whole country always care about students and pupils with special and difficult circumstances so that they can study and practice with peace of mind.

On this occasion, FPT Corporation and FPT Long Chau Vaccination Centre donated 10,000 vaccine injections to pupils of the Hy Vong School and many women and children in Da Nang, contributing to promoting the development of preventive medicine, protecting the health of people in Da Nang.
