Da Nang customs support enterprises
To facilitate and attract more enterprises to carry out import and export procedures, the Da Nang Customs strives to improve the efficiency of support solutions, striving to soon complete the year’s budget collection target.

Offering best facilitation
Regularly working with the Customs Branch of the Da Nang Port, Mr. Nguyen Minh Tuan, an import-export staff of the city branch of the Bee Logistics JSC, said that it took only a few minutes to make customs clearance of goods and most declarations are registered electronically, which has helped him and his customers save a lot of time, reduce storage costs and keep up with the production schedule.
Many new documents and policies are publicised by the customs sector by organising training courses or sending emails to enterprises, thereby supporting them to quickly access and declare customs effectively.
Mr. Tuan said that the customs sector regularly reformed administrative procedures, so its support activities for businesses are increasingly effective, especially for businesses operating in the fields of transportation and customs declaration.
To improve the levels of enterprises’ satisfaction, the Da Nang Port’s Customs Branch regularly gives opinions, innovates policy mechanisms, strengthens modernisation reform, and establishes a Problem Solving Team at the unit in order to promptly remove difficulties and create favourable conditions for import and export activities.
As of late September 2024, 2,163 businesses had carried out import and export procedures at the branch, up 16% over the same period in 2023. Accumulated from January 1 to September 25, 2024, the branch received 18,486 customs declarations, up 14.66% against 2023. The total import-export turnover was US$ 1.16 billion, up 7.95% over the same period.
Meanwhile, since the beginning of the year, the Hoa Khanh - Lien Chieu Industrial Park’s Customs Branch has received and handled problems for nearly 300 businesses; and organised a dialogue between the customs branch and enterprises. Additionally, a working group has been established to work with businesses making the largest contributions to the state budget at the branch to update instructions on new documents, and at the same time to exchange and promptly answer questions about customs procedures to raise awareness of law compliance.
As a result, from January 1 to September 25, 2024, the branch received 42,427 customs declarations, a rise of 13.9% over the same period in 2023. The total import-export turnover was US$859 million, an increase of 10.4% over the same period.
Mr. Ho Van Tai, Head of the Hoa Khanh - Lien Chieu Industrial Park Customs Branch informed that the unit has been taking solutions to facilitate and support enterprises in the area. The Branch has been boosting the application of information technology in professional work and customs management to shorten the time taken for handling clearance procedures.
Flexible support for businesses
As of September 30, the budget revenue from import-export activities reached VND2,458 billion, equal to 101.8% compared to the same period in 2023, equal to 70.2% compared to the estimate for 2024 (VND3,500 billion).
According to the Da Nang Customs Department, the forecast of import-export situation in the fourth quarter of 2024 is not much different from the beginning of the year, so the task of attracting businesses to carry out import-export procedures and creating favorable conditions for businesses is an important requirement.
Mr. Quach Dang Hoa, Director of the Da Nang Customs Department, said that in order to create positive changes in budget revenue, the Customs Department regularly organised dialogues to provide businesses with information on new policies and remove their obstacles, as well as encourage individuals, organisations, and businesses to cooperate, share, and accompany.
At the customs branches under the Da Nang Customs Department, many solutions to facilitate trade and increase budget revenue have been and are being implemented. In the fourth quarter of 2024, the branches will continue to organize dialogues with businesses to facilitate them to update new documents, note shortcomings in customs declaration procedures, and promptly resolve difficulties and create favourable conditions for businesses' import and export activities.
Moreover, the branches will conduct surveys and select 3-4 businesses with large import and export turnover in the management area to discuss and grasp difficulties and obstacles in order to have effective support.
In particular, after 5 months of implementing the programme "Pilot support and encouragement for enterprises in import and export activities in Da Nang ", 9 enterprises participating in the first phase of the programme made 12,802 declarations. Of which, the number of customs declarations of exported goods registered by the enterprises were 5,660, whilst that of imported goods were 7,142. The total import-export turnover was US$577.77 million, of which the export turnover was US$332.81 million, and the import turnover was US$244.96 million, contributing to the State budget revenue of VND268.36 billion, an increase of 2.7% over the same period in 2023.
In the coming time, the Customs Department will continue to review, analyze and evaluate to select enterprises inside and outside the management area to participate in the next phase of the programme.
Nearly US$ 2.9 billion in total import-export turnover through Da Nang customs in first 9 months From January 1 - September 25, 2024, 2,877 enterprises made customs clearance procedures at Da Nang customs, an increase of 14.71% over the same period in 2023, of which 1,972 were outside the city, accounting for 68.5% of the total. Some enterprises made the largest contributions to the State budget, including the Da Nang Rubber JSC, the Hoa Tho Textile and Garment Joint Stock Corporation, the Truong Hai Group JSC (Thaco), and the Heineken Vietnam Brewery Company Limited in Da Nang. The total import-export turnover at Da Nang customs was US$ 2.89 billion, up 8.34% over the same period. |
