In 2024, Trung Khoa Printing Company Limited, located in Thach Thang Ward, Hai Chau District, is one of the three enterprises supported by the municipal Department of Industry and Trade to implement the cooperation programme to implement the consulting project to develop smart factories in Da Nang.
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Thinh, the Director of Trung Khoa Printing Co.,Ltd, the enterprise was established in 2015 with the starting point of a printing and photocopying shop. Two years later, the company basically stopped recording by books and excel, and then started applying software and automated management platforms. Thanks to that, the company can easily process about 1,000 orders per day during peak times.
From the data collected in the management software, the company’s leaders are flexible in making business development decisions. Currently, the company has established a packaging printing factory in the An Don Industrial Park in Son Tra District.
According to a recent survey and consultation of Samsung Electronics Viet Nam Co., Ltd., the level of the enterprise’s smart factory reached 1.1/5 points with the strengths being leadership and strategy reaching 1.8/5 points; product development reaching 1.6/5 points. The company aims to improve the smart factory level index from 1.1 to 3/5 points and needs to improve and build a real-time process, quality and equipment management environment.
“We determined that in order to develop into a professional, competitive packaging printing company and provide high-end products to FDI enterprises in the city, the company needs to quickly apply technology and promote digitalisation in production. With that clear goal, we hope to motivate our staff to be determined, determined and make efforts to successfully implement the smart manufacturing project,” Ms. Thinh shared.
Another enterprise supported to participate in the project in 2024 is Minh Thinh Loi Production and Trading Co., Ltd located in Hoa Hai Ward, Ngu Hanh Son District, operating in the field of design, mold manufacturing and production of plastic products in the local supporting industry. Through the survey, the level of the company’s smart factory is at level 1/5 points with the strengths being leadership ability reaching 1.5/5 points and product development reaching 1.6/5 points.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Minh, the Deputy Director of Minh Thinh Loi Production and Trading Co.,Ltd, said that developing smart, green and sustainable factories is an important issue in the current economic development trend. The programme to implement a smart factory development consulting project in Da Nang is a platform to help businesses confidently develop and improve their competitiveness.
Previously, the company had implemented corporate digital transformation but was not successful due to unsuitability. With this project, with support from Samsung and the Department of Industry and Trade, the company is more confident in the development process. In terms of equipment, the company has almost completely changed the technology. Currently, the company is implementing a solar energy project to prepare for the development of a smart factory.
It is known that in 2024, the cooperation programme to implement the smart factory development consulting project has provided consulting support to the Minh Thinh Loi Production and Trading Co., Ltd., Trung Khoa Printing Co., Ltd. and Da Nang Rubber Joint Stock Company.
Previously, in 2023, the programme provided consulting and innovation support to two enterprises applying smart factories in the city, namely Tan Long Packaging co.,Ltd in Hoa Khanh Industrial Park; Trung Nam Electronics Manufacturing Services JSC, Trung Nam EMS - Da Nang Hi-tech Park. After the implementation process, the enterprises have achieved many positive results, significantly improving production efficiency and competitiveness, building a roadmap towards smart factories.
According to Deputy Director of the Da Nang Department of Industry and Trade Nguyen Van Tru, the city has been implementing many digital economic development programmes, including piloting the smart factory model. At the same time, many resolutions and projects have been issued to support enterprises in digital transformation, applying new technologies, in order to improve competitiveness and participate deeply in the global supply chain.
Promoting digital transformation and building smart factories is an important strategic task for Da Nang to continue implementing the goals set out in Resolution No. 52-NQ/TW dated September 27, 2019 of the Politburo on proactively participating in the 4th industrial revolution, as well as the National Digital Transformation Programme; contributing to the implementation of the strategy of building Da Nang into a modern industrial center, developing sustainably, with a vision towards 2045.
“For the programme to achieve the expected results, businesses need to proactively take advantage of opportunities, make efforts to deploy, acquire new knowledge and skills, and apply them to production practices in the most effective way. The municipal Department of Industry and Trade is committed to accompanying the program, contributing to creating sustainable values for businesses and economic development in the city,” Mr. Tru added.
