'Da Nang Free Trade Zone - New driving force for logistics industry development in Da Nang' forum slated for Nov. 14

The Da Nang People’s Committee has just issued a plan to organise the forum ‘Da Nang Free Trade Zone - New driving force for the development of the Da Nang logistics industry’. The forum is scheduled to be held on November 14, aiming to introduce the potential for the development of the logistics industry with the model of Da Nang Free Trade Zone to attract investment as well as enhance exchange activities, support business connections through exhibitions and the introduction of products and services in the city’s logistics industry.

The forum is an activity under the project ‘Developing logistics services in Da Nang to effectively connect with the Central Key Economic Zone and the East-West Economic Corridor in the 2021 - 2030 period, with a vision toward 2050’ according to Decision No. 940/QD-UBND dated May 9, 2023 of the municipal People’s Committee. In particular, the forum is an opportunity for the city to exchange and discuss specific solutions and tasks to promote the development of the logistics industry, as well as orientations for the construction of the Da Nang Free Trade Zone.

The forum is expected to attract 350 - 400 domestic and international guests, including representatives from ministries, central agencies; international organisations and domestic and foreign investment funds; associations; institutes, schools, research agencies; corporations, general companies, enterprises in port infrastructure, warehouses, transportation, domestic and foreign shipping lines.

The forum has presentation and discussion sessions. In particular, presentations will revolve around the contents of building the Da Nang Free Trade Zone, from world models to experiences applied to Da Nang. The discussion session focuses on the contents related to developing Da Nang into a regional centre for logistics and an international production - trade and logistics centre through the leverage of the Free Trade Zone. Within the framework of the forum, there will be a launching ceremony of the city’s logistics development steering committee and the signing of memorandums of understanding.
