Experience in serving Indian customers shared in Da Nang
About 200 tourism firms and tour guides participated in a talk show on Tuesday in Da Nang to share experience in serving and developing tourism products for Indian tourist market in 2024.
During the event, hosted by the Da Nang Department of Tourism, participating experts exchanged and discussed the psychology and skills of serving the Indian tourist market. This was also an opportunity for travel businesses and tour guides to exchange and learn practical experiences applied in business and tourist guide activities.
India has been one of the top 10 countries with the highest international search volume for Viet Nam tourism since the beginning of 2022. In the first 9 months of 2024, the city welcomed 151,876 Indian travellers, accounting for 43% of the total number of Indian visitors to Viet Nam, an increase of 125% over the same period in 2023.
Da Nang is an increasingly popular destination for Indian tourists thanks to its diverse types of tourism, including MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, Exhibitions) tourism, wedding tourism, beach resort tourism, cultural tourism, and golf tourism.
To lure more Indian visitors, the city has laid an emphasis on implementing many promotional and communication activities such as participating in the State Fair in India in February 2024; welcoming famtrip and presstrip delegations to survey local tourism products and services; supporting Indian film crews to film in Da Nang; and connecting and working with airlines to open direct flights between India and Da Nang.
Thanks to these great efforts, the city has witnessed an increasing number of Indian visitors to Da Nang. It is expected that by the end of October 2024, Vietjet Air will operate the Da Nang - Ahmedabad route with a frequency of two flights/week.
