Identifying the promotion of entrepreneurship, economic development, and sustainable poverty reduction as key tasks, various organisations across Da Nang have recently implemented effective support initiatives. These efforts have greatly contributed to improving living standards and fostering local socio-economic growth.

In 2021, due to the impact of COVID-19, Doan Thi My Chau, residing in Hoa Xuan Ward, Cam Le District, left her job at a restaurant. She then began her own business producing healthy food. After researching, she and her husband started making preservative-free sausage. “In Da Nang, there are many businesses selling sausage with established brands. We needed to stand out by ensuring our products were safe and eco-friendly,” Ms. Chau shared.

Initially, she faced anxiety as she was new to the field and lacked expertise. During this time, the Cam Le District Women's Union provided her with training in business management and marketing, along with opportunities to participate in start-up events. This support boosted her confidence, allowing her to improve her products and introduce them to the market.

Ms. Chau carefully selects fresh ingredients, uses no preservatives, and steams the sausage right after mincing the meat. The products come in various types, such as VND 160,000/kg for sausages, VND 280,000/kg for beef sausage, and VND 170,000/kg for pork sausage. They are now widely accepted by consumers in Da Nang, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, and other provinces.

To equip women with entrepreneurial skills, the Cam Le District Women's Union has been actively conducting training programmes. They have held 35 workshops with 2,800 participants, focusing on digital marketing, accessing credit, and food safety. The Union has also supported the establishment of cooperatives, creating local jobs for nearly 1,000 women, with monthly earnings of between VND 3 to 5 million each person.

The Union has further established five women’s start-up clubs and developed models for safe food markets, providing a platform for women to share business experiences and receive financial and professional support.

According to Ngo Thi Thuy Trang, President of the Cam Le District Women’s Union, the Union will continue supporting women in developing business ideas, promoting creativity, and enhancing confidence. They will also work on promoting products and connecting experts to assist new entrepreneurs.

At the same time, the Youth Union’s start-up festival featured 12 booths with products such as beef sausage, cordyceps, and organic produce. A range of activities, including start-up forums, workshops, and competitions like the “OCOP Youth Livestream”, allowed participants to engage in discussions about their business journeys.

Mr. Nguyen Ba Duan, Deputy Secretary of the municipal Youth Union, highlighted that the festival provided young people with insights into the opportunities and challenges of entrepreneurship, enabling them to nurture their aspirations and ambitions in the modern era.
