Co-hosted by the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA) and Da Nang-based private Dong A University, the two-day event unveils key findings from the ERIA Report, a two-year research project titled ‘Vietnam 2045: Issues and Challenges for Development’. This comprehensive study was submitted to leaders of both Viet Nam and Japan in November 2023.
Speaking at the workshop, Da Nang People’s Committee Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Anh Thi emphasised that, under the city’s development orientation by 2030, with a vision toward 2045, the city is focusing on developing three main economic pillars: tourism, high-tech industry and marine economy.
The city is also implementing solutions to develop a smart, creative and sustainable urban area, to become an important socio-economic centre of the central region, and the country as a whole. Therefore, the academic contributions and policy advice from research institutions, especially ERIA through the workshop, have made an important contribution to orienting the development strategy of Viet Nam, and the city in particular.
The workshop features 4 working sessions and a forum, bringing together 14 thematic reports that provide in-depth perspectives and insights into Viet Nam’s economy. In particular, experts discussed solutions towards a high-income country; the issues of changing the growth model; the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR), the Internet of Things (IOT) and artificial intelligence (AI)...
