The Ministry of Transport has assigned the Viet Nam Maritime Administration to guide the investor to receive ships in accordance with relevant legal regulations in order to ensure maritime safety and security.
At the same time, the maritime port authority and relevant units have been directed to strengthen inspection and review to prevent negative behaviours which cause difficulties and harassment in public service activities and create the "ask - give" approach as allowing ships with a tonnage larger than the allowance to enter and exit wharf or port.
Previously, the Da Nang Port sent a document to the Viet Nam Maritime Administration requesting permission for ships with a length of 199.99m and a total tonnage of 49,999 DWT to enter and leave wharf TS1A at the Tien Sa Port to load and unload wood chips and general cargo from the fourth quarter of 2024.
The Da Nang Port installed a monitoring station at the Tien Sa Port in October 2023, and completed the installation of additional information required for monitoring according to the content of the document of the Viet Nam Maritime Administration in August 2024.
