Screenwriting camp on the nation's sovereignty begins
A screenwriting camp, which has “Protecting the Nation's Border Sovereignty over Its Seas and Islands along with Praising the Border Guards” as its theme, was officially opened in Da Nang on Monday. The event is the first of its kind in Viet Nam and it is being co-organised by the city’s Border Guard High Command and the Viet Nam Cinema Association.
The 10-day camp is being attended by 29 screenwriters, some of whom are members of the Association, and there is collaboration with the local border guard force. The camp’s participants will compete in the writing of reportage, documentary and thematic film scripts about the nation’s sovereignty over its seas and islands, and praising the border guards and officers. They will also be involved in practical activities and exchange meetings with border guards and officers from the Da Nang Port and the Cu Lao Cham Island’s border posts.
The contestants’ outlines are also required to focus on topical issues and the sense of pride in the country’s sovereignty over its sea and islands. They include “Nhung hon đao trong tam hon nguoi Viet” (The islands in the soul of the Vietnamese people), “Nhung mien dat mong mot lan den” (The lands which are looked forward to set foot once), “Phia truoc la bien” (Front is the sea) and “Moi ngu dan la mot cot moc chu quyen” (Each fisherman is a milestone sovereignty).
