More than 150 songs have been selected out of 172 entries from songwriters nationwide in a contest to write songs about AO victims, which was launched by the Central Committee of the Viet Nam Association for AO Victims.
The songbook includes the songs which won the top three prizes in the contest. Songwriter Khanh Vinh’s song entitled “Loi Ru” (Lullaby) won first prize, Truong Quang Thanh’s song “Chi Con Tinh Yeu” (Only Love) came second, and a song by Xuan Thieu entitled “ Noi Buon Mau Da Cam” (Sorrow Named Dioxin) was placed third.
1,000 copies of the songbook will be released to the public and they will be translated into English in order to introduce them to international friends. Every song in the collection aims to convey the message of humanitarian love, the struggle for justice for AO victims, and condemnation of the US war in Viet Nam, as well as calling for people worldwide to share the pain of the Vietnamese victims.
