A thematic exhibition entitled “The Quintessence of Ancient Vietnamese Buddhist Artifacts” will take place at the Museum of Da Nang, 24 Tran Phu Street, between 16 August and 16 September.

Co-organised by the museum and the Da Nang Buddhist Sangha, the event aims to introduce to local residents the specific characteristics of the Vietnamese Buddhist cultural heritage, thus contributing to preserve, honour and promote our national culture.

The one-month exhibition will feature around 150 ancient artifacts which include paintings, sculptures, Buddhist woodblocks, worshipping objects and musical instruments dating back to between the 7th and the 8th centuries, plus others dating from the 19th to early 20th centuries.

The ancient artifacts on display come from the collections of some local pagodas and individuals, and they all showcase aesthetic, scientific and historical values.
