Published: August 13, 2013

The 18th South Central Region and Highlands Fine Arts Exhibition will take place at Da Nang’s Centre of Cultural Heritage Management, 78 Le Duan Street, from 18 - 27 August after a gap of nearly 17 years.  The event is being co-organised by the Viet Nam Fine Arts Association and the city’s Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

The exhibition will feature up to 50 outstanding paintings, graphics, sculptures, and pieces of applied fine arts.  They were all created at the  fine arts camps held in the city between August 2012 and July 2013, and they have not yet made their public debut.

The works focus on the themes “Hoa Vang New Rural Area” and “Planning Urban Da Nang”.  They showcase the city’s rapid changes and remarkable achievements since it was recognised as a centrally governed city in 1997 and a first-grade city in 2003.

Apart works from local artists, the exhibition will also feature others by artists from Quang Ngai City, and the provinces of Binh Dinh, Phu Yen, Kom Tum, Khanh Hoa, Dak Lak, Gia Lai, and Quang Nam.
