The Da Nang Annual Literature and Art Creation Summer Camp for Children took place in the city between 17 July and 3 September.  This year’s event featured 108 works from 34 local school pupils.  A total of 1 first, 4 second and 7 third prizes were awarded to the best contestants in the literature and art sections.

In the art section, 1st prize went to Nguyen Duc Thien, a Year 6 pupil at the Nguyen Van Cu Junior High School, for his drawing of “Bao Tang Cham” (The Museum of Cham Sculpture).

“Bay Giua Ngan Ha” (Flying between Galaxies) by Nguyen Cuu Nguyen Nguyen and “Rong Phun Lua” (A Fire-breathing Dragon) by Vu Quang Hy shared second place for their creativity, purity and specific beauty.

As for the literature section, the majority of the entries focused on such familiar subjects as families, schools, friends and hometowns, all reflecting their writers’ creative and diverse views.  No first prize was awarded in this section, but there were 2 second and 4 third prizes given to the most outstanding contestants.
