Another national record for the "extraordinary man of the Han River"

The 2013 National Swimming Championships ended yesterday in Ha Noi, and the team from Ho Chi Minh City came 1st with 18 gold medals, 11 silver and 8 bronze. Da Nang’s team finished in 2nd place with 9 gold medals, 3 silver and 4 bronze, whilst Binh Phuoc ranked 3rd with 3 gold medals and 4 silver.
On the last day of the competition, Hoang Quy Phuoc - “the extraordinary man of the Han River” - set a new national record of 1 min 51.50 in the men’s 200m freestyle. This broke his own previous record of 1 min 51.95. During this year’s swimming competition, Phuoc brought home 9 gold medals and 2 silver in total, and set 2 new national records.
