Domestic athletes dominate marathon races
The Da Nang International Marathon Competition 2013, entitled “Da Nang - A Festival Day of the Sun and Sea”, took place in the city on Sunday morning. The 3-race event saw the participation of around 3,400 runners from 25 countries and territories.
Domestic competitors were very successful in all the races. The top 3 finishers in the men’s half marathon were Vietnamese athletes. Le Van Tuan (No 665) won the race in 1 hour 15 minutes, followed by Nguyen Truong Sinh and Nguyen Dang Khoa. National runner Pham Thi Binh (No 671) won the women’s half marathon in a time of 1 hour 24 minutes 15 seconds.

In the men’s marathon, Nguyen Van Long took the first prize in a time of 2 hours 56 minutes and 31 seconds, with Ly Van Chien second. First prize in the women’s marathon went to Pham Quynh Le, with Nong Minh Nguyet in second place.
