Local photographer receives gold medal at regional photo festival
The 18th South Central Region and Highlands Artistic Photography Festival took place in Phu Yen Province’s Tuy Hoa City between 31 August and 2 September. This year's event featured 1,594 works by 242 photographers from Da Nang, Quang Ngai City, and the provinces of Quang Nam, Binh Dinh, Phu Yen, Khanh Hoa, Gia Lai, Kon Tum, Dak Lak and Dak Nong.
The festival winners were announced by its Arts Council, and the gold medal was awarded to Da Nang photographer Nguyen Cong Hung for his photo “Khoanh Khac Duong Dua” (A Swimming Race Moment).
“Do Suc” (A Tug-of-war Competition) by Bao Hung from Dak Lak Province, “Chot Mua” (A Sudden Rain) by Nguyen Van Thanh from Da Nang, and “Ngay Tro Ve” (Returning Home) by Le Van from Quang Nam Province, all shared second place.

Sharing third place were “Gio Nha Trang” (Sea-breeze at Nha Trang Water) by Ngo Viet Minh, “Mung Nha Rong” (Celebration for a New Communal House) by Hoang Minh Thai, “Vao Tham Dao Da Nam Truong Sa” (A Visit to Da Island in the Southern Part of the Truong Sa Archipelago) by Tran Minh Ngoc, and “Tuoi Tho Mien Nui” (A Child in the Mountainous Area) by Lai Khanh.
