Efforts to strengthen Viet Nam-India friendship
This morning, the 2013 Viet Nam-India People’s Friendship Festival officially opened with a talk entitled “Viet Nam-India Cultural Exchange” at Da Nang’s Museum of Cham Sculpture.
Over recent years, numerous cultural exchange arts performances between Viet Nam and India have been held in the city. They have included performances by the Indian Odissi dance troupe in 2008 and 2012, and the Bollywood troupe in 2011.
In addition, the Indian Embassy in Viet Nam has coordinated with the Da Nang Department of Foreign Affairs to organise a wide range of events both in the city and in India. They included the Indian Film Festival in the city in June 2010, an Indian rock performance at the University of Technology earlier this year to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the India-ASEAN partnership, and an international poetry exhibition in India.

The Chairman of the Da Nang Union of Friendship Organisations, Mr Huynh Duc Truong, said that the above-mentioned activities have made a significant contribution to strengthening the bilateral friendship between the two countries.
At present, Da Nang’s Museum of Cham Sculpture and India’s National Museum Institute of the History of Art, Conservation and Museology are cooperating in the compilation and issue of a publication entitled “Viet Nam’s Cham Sculpture and the Architectural Relationship between India and Viet Nam”.
