Writer Thai Ba Loi wins SEA Write Award 2013

Da Nang’s writer Thai Ba Loi received the SEA Write Award 2013 (Southeast Asian Writers Awards 2013) for his book “Minh Su” at a ceremony which took place in Bangkok, Thailand, on 14 October.

The 400+ page story, which was written between 2004 and 2009, is about Lord Nguyen Hoang (1525 - 1613) who was the reclaimer of part of the central and southern regions.
Other Vietnamese writers who have won this notable award include To Huu in 1996, Ma Van Khang in 1998, Huu Thinh in 1999, and Nguyen Khai in 2000.
The SEA Write Awards is held annually and was first organised in 1979 by the Thai Royal Family. The awards aim to honour outstanding works of poets and writers in Southeast Asia.
