The Japanese film “Konshin” will be screened at Da Nang’s Trung Vuong Theatre on 11 and 12 December.  The film has previously been shown in Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh City.

The screenings have been co-organised by the Japan-Viet Nam Cultural Exchange Association, and the Department of International Cooperation under the Vietnamese Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. 

“Konshin” was directed by Yoshinari Nishikori, and it was based on a novel by Kenichi Kawakam.  The film tells the story of a place steeped in ancient traditions where modern-day Sumo wrestling originated.
