On Tuesday, the Most Venerable Thich Minh Tong, Head of the Chon Ngon Tong Museum in Hoa Binh Province’s Lien Son District, donated eleven valuable objects and documents to the Museum of Da Nang.

Six of the donated items were Buddha statues dating back to the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries and they have been collected from some pagodas in the northern region.  In addition, four royal honour-conferring diplomas, one royal ordinance, and many other valuable documents from the Nguyen dynasty were given to the Museum of Da Nang.  Most notably, the royal ordinance relates to the historical evidence of Da Nang’s Dien Hai Citadel.  It showcases the image of a dragon with its five-toe foot, and features amazing strokes and delicate details.  It is one of the most impressive items among the Most Venerable’s collection of 300 hand-painted royal honours and ordinances. These royal honours and ordinances were collected from pagodas in southern France in 2007.
