On Thursday, the 2014 Spring Newspaper Festival was opened at the Da Nang Press Club on 42 Tran Phu Street.  The opening was attended by the Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People's Council, Mr Huynh Nghia, the municipal People’s Committee Vice Chairman, Mr Nguyen Xuan Anh, and other city leaders.

Co-organised by the club and the Department of Information and Communications, the Festival is taking place between 23 and 25 January.  The event’s participants include the Da Nang Newspaper, the Non Nuoc Magazine, the city branch of the Nhan Dan Newspaper, the Saigon Giai Phong Newspaper, the Quan Khu 5 (Military Zone 5) Newspaper, the representative office of Quang Nam Newspaper, and the local Press Photo Club.

More than 200 copies of printed editions and magazines from press agencies nationwide are being showcased for local readers during the Festival.

Addressing the opening ceremony, the Da Nang Newspaper Editor-in-Chief, Mr Mai Duc Loc, spoke highly of the participating Tet magazines for their attractive contents and eye-catching designs.  Mr Loc also praised the participating press agencies for their unique creations in decorating the reading areas, which has contributed significantly to promoting the festive atmosphere at the event.
