Various cultural activities for Tet

According to the Da Nang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, 28 city-level cultural activities will be held in the city to welcome in the Tet Festival, whilst another 38 district-level cultural and sporting events will also take place between 19 January and 11 February.

In particular, a special musical performance entitled “Welcoming in Spring 2014” will be held on the eastern side of the Han River on Lunar New Year’s Eve (30 January).  A public arts performance will take place on Bach Dang Street on the evening of 5 February (the 6th of the 1st lunar month), while a street music programme will be organised on the evening of 8 February (the 9th of the 1st lunar month) at the same venue.  All these events are expected to cost around 340 million VND in total.

In addition, a Tet flower market will be held in the 29 March Square on 2 September Street from the 22nd to 30th day of the 12th lunar month, which will fall between 22 and 30 January.

The 2014 Spring Flower Festival will also take place at the 29 March Park, from 29 January to 7 February (29th day of the 12th lunar month to the 8th day of the 1st lunar month).  Also at the event will be the final round of the artistic talent competition organised by the city’s Cultural Centre. 

From 1 - 11 February (the 2nd to 12th days of the 1st lunar month), local residents will have the opportunity to enjoy free performances of traditional music by artistes from the Nguyen Hien Dinh Tuong Theatre at the Spring Flower Festival and in all districts across the city.

The Cinema and Film Distribution Centre is screening numerous films in Hoa Vang, Lien Chieu and Ngu Hanh Son districts between 25 January and 28 February (25th day of the 12th lunar month to the 29th day of the 1st lunar month).  People living in the districts of Ngu Hanh Son, Cam Le and Hoa Vang will also have the chance to enjoy musical performances organised by the Trung Vuong Theatre from 4 - 9 February (the 5th to 10th days of the 1st lunar month).
