Published: February 06, 2014

Many tourist attractions and entertainment areas in Da Nang have been filled with a joyful and boisterous festive atmosphere during Tet Festival.

The Bach Dang Spring Flower Street was an ideal destination for those who want to enjoy memorable moments of the spring.  Local residents were impressed by yellow daisies, red poinsettias and other colourful spring flowers on the street.  They became involved in taking photos and enjoying the enchanting scenery.

Thousands of people visited local pagodas such as Linh Ung and Bat Nha on the Lunar New Year’s Eve and in the early morning of the first day of Tet to pick buds or young leaves in order to pray for good lucks in the New Year.  Most notably, the Marble Mountains attracted 16,000 visitors during the first 4 days of the 1st lunar month.

Starting on the 2nd day of the festival, artistes from the Nguyen Hien Dinh Tuong Theatre have performed 3 shows each day at the Spring Flower Festival which was held at the 29 March Park.  Visitors were treated to Tuong excerpts of the famous plays including “Thoai Khanh- Chau Tuan”, “The Old Man Caries His Wife on His Back to the Fest” and “Nguyet Co Turns into a Fox”.

The qualifying round of the “Artistic Talents and Beautiful Singing Voices” contest was also held at the park on 3 and 4 February (the 4th and 5th days of the 1st lunar month).  The event featured 45 performances by individuals and groups across the city.  The final round of this contest will take place at 7pm on Thursday at the same place.

Organised by the city’s Cultural Centre, a special music performance entitled “Celebrating the Birthday of the Communist Party of Viet Nam- Welcoming in Spring 2014” took place on the western side of the Han River on Wednesday.
