Hue Festival a big feast of art, music
The nine-day Festival Hue, from April 12-20, was a big feast of art and music, with 2,600 artists and performers, including 595 foreign ones, doing their best to entertain visitors.

Addressing a press briefing in Hue city, the central province of Thua Thien-Hue, the chief of the festival’s organising board and Vice Chairman of Thua Thien Hue People’s Committee, Ngo Hoa, said 66 art troupes from 37 countries staged 170 performances at 15 venues in Hue city and 10 other sites in the province.
He stressed that the participation of the art troupes helped turn Hue Festival into a major cultural event at national and international level, while highlighting the characteristics of the ancient imperial city.
In addition, more than 50 cultural events were held, covering a diverse range of themes, from rural markets of the old days, ancient Vietnamese villages to pet bird shows, human chess games and book fairs.
At the press briefing, the organising board also took note of opinions and feedbacks on how to further improve the quality of festival activities.
