Solemn rituals commemorate the Hung Kings
An incense offering ceremony in commemoration of the Hung Kings, the founders of the nation, took place on Wednesday morning at the Kinh Thien Palace on Nghia Linh Mountain, Phu Tho Province. The event was attended by leaders of Phu Tho, Bac Ninh, Quang Binh, Vinh Long and Long An provinces, as well as people from across the country and some overseas Vietnamese.
In Da Nang, similar events were held at the Hai Chau, Trung Nghia, Hoa An, Da Son and An Khe village communal houses. They featured various solemn traditional festive activities, including ceremonies to offer incense for national heroes and ancestors, making ceremonial offerings, and pigeon releases as a prayer for peace and prosperity throughout the year.

In addition, festival-goers had the opportunity to enjoy folk games and traditional activities such as Vietnamese musical performances, “bai choi” (singing while acting as playing cards), tug of war, stick pushing, sack races, and chess and football competitions.
Also on the same day, the Hoa Cuong Bac Ward Youth Union held a ceremony at the Nai Nam Village Communal House to offer incense and light candles as a tribute to local heroes and martyrs. The communal house, which has been recognised as a national cultural site, was a secret military base for revolutionary organisations during Viet Nam’s two resistance wars.
