Two pop stars nominated for 2014 World Music Awards

Two Vietnamese pop stars are among the nominations for the 2014 World Music Awards for the first time. My Linh and My Tam, along with 60 other Asian singers, have been nominated for Best Female Artist, Best Live Act, and Best Entertainer of the Year.
Born in Da Nang, 33-year-old My Tam is well-loved by fans of various age groups for her powerful and emotional singing voice, and her charming and simple way of talking. Over recent years, she has built a good reputation in the international music market. Last week, she was voted one of 15 international prospect pop artists in the USA by the Policy Mic website. She also won the title of Best Southeast Asia Act at the 2013 MTV European Music Awards (MTV EMA).

Born in 1975, My Linh is one of the four “Vietnamese divas” from the northern region unofficially honoured by the domestic media. Her forte musical genres are pop, funk and r&b.
Launched in May 1989, the World Music Awards event aims to honour the artists from all the continents who have the bestselling albums according to the statistics of the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI).
The awards ceremony will be held in Monaco, France, on 27 May.
