SHB DN fight back and win

Matches in the 19th round of the 2014 V-League took place at stadiums across the country on 21 and 22 June.

SHB Da Nang fought back from 2-0 down to convincingly defeat Dong Tam Long An (DTLA) 2-4 in a dramatic match at the Tan An Stadium last Saturday.

Taking advantage of their home stadium, DTLA took control of the game from the beginning, and their dominance paid off in the 19th minute when Tai Loc opened the scoring.  Four minutes later, midfielder Sim Woon Sub’s direct shot at goal increased the score to 2-0 for the home team.

Then, in first-half stoppage time, SHB DN’s striker Bernardo sent a powerful header directly into the goal to narrow the gap at 2-1.  In the 48th minute, Bernardo completed his double and levelled the game at 2-2.  In the 62nd minute, Vu Phong scored from a free kick on the left wing, putting SHB DN into the lead for the first time.  Finally, SHB DN’s midfielder Ngoc Thang’s shot in the 80th minute gave his team the dramatic win.

An Giang defeated QNK Quang Nam 5-3 at the Long Xuyen Stadium, whilst Hai Phong were beaten 2-5 at home by Song Lam Nghe An.  Third-placed Thanh Hoa shared the points with Hoang Anh Gia Lai in a 2-2 home draw.  Dong Nai were held to a 3-3 draw at home by Binh Duong, whilst Ha Noi T&T had a 6-4 win over Quang Ninh at the Hang Day Stadium.

As a result, Ha Noi T&T lead the league with 38 points, followed by Binh Duong on 36 and Thanh Hoa on 33.  SHB DN still lie in 4th place with 29.

SHB DN will next play at Quang Ninh on Sunday 6 July at 4.00pm.
