In addition to the large-scale musical programmes which usually take place at either the Trung Vuong Theatre or the Tien Son Sports Arena, there are also many musical mini-shows in the Nguyen Hien Dinh Tuong Theatre and in the local bars and music-themed cafés.  This suggests that local residents have many choices to satisfy their unique musical tastes.

Over recent years, local residents have enjoyed numerous live shows by renowned domestic and overseas Vietnamese singers such as Khanh Ly, Giao Linh, Y Lan, Anh Tuyet, My Linh, Duc Tuan and Quang Dung, along with other young singers who have recently risen to fame.

Many of these singers say that the majority of local residents show their strong passion and support for musical performances in a discreet and subtle manner.  Unlike live shows in other localities which feature a bustling and boisterous atmosphere, musical performances in Da Nang are usually enjoyed in a calm and peaceful atmosphere.  In particular, it is common to see the audiences either showing their appreciation of the outstanding performances by the singers with long rounds of warm applause, or singing parts of the lyrics as the performers hold their microphones towards the audience.  Most audience members are reluctant to present flowers to the singers whilst they are performing on the stage because of the possible interruption to their ongoing performances.  Thanks to the sincere support from the audiences, singers always feel comfortable demonstrating their great devotion to local music lovers.

Unlike in the big cities of Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh City, high-class musical programmes, such as the In the Spotlight show for example, by the country’s leading singers and instrumentalists have yet to be organised in Da Nang.  Despite this, the increasing numbers of well-prepared musical performances which have been held in the city over recent years have brought a spiritual food to local citizens.
