The Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People’s Committee, Mr Huynh Duc Tho, recently held a reception for some invited guests in the 2014 Autumn Meeting programme.  They were representatives from the Cannes and Venice film festivals and the Korean Film Council, as well as some famous domestic film directors, actors and actresses.

The visitors shared their valuable experiences in promoting the development of the film industry, with their focus being on developing human resources in cinemas and organising film-related activities to attract more audiences.  They added that Cannes, Busan and Hong Kong are all seaside cities well-known for hosting international film festivals.  The guests said that therefore they hope that Da Nang will be selected to host national and international film events because it boasts an amazing landscape and beautiful beaches.

The 2014 Autumn Meeting took place in Da Nang from 22 - 29 November and included various activities such as film making workshops, film screening galas, an awards ceremony, and cinema fundraising efforts.  This annual event is organised by Cinema Land and DNY Productions.
