Da Nang’s sky lit up at 8.35pm yesterday as the magnificent fireworks displays of the Da Nang International Fireworks Competition 2015 (DIFC 2015) began.  The first night’s show featured performances by teams South Africa, the USA and Da Nang-Viet Nam.

The opening ceremony of the DIFC 2015 took place at 8.20pm and the event attracted thousands of locals and visitors.

Delivering the opening speech, municipal People’s Committee Chairman Huynh Duc Tho remarked that the participating teams would thrill and entertain the spectators with spectacular and impressive performances.

Representatives from the event’s organisers presented campaign medals to the sponsors of this year’s event.  Over 45.4 billion VND was raised from about 86 local businesses.  This figure was made up of over 29.4 billion VND in cash along with services worth 16.1 billion VND.

Also at the ceremony, the spectators enjoyed an enchanting musical show which showcased the specific characteristics of the culture, land and people of the participating countries.  An exciting song, entitled ‘Da Nang - the Night of Fireworks’ and performed by nationally-renowned singer Ha Anh Tuan with the help of the ABC dance troupe, left a good impression on the spectators.
