259.850 billion VND to be used for upgrading cultural works
According to the Da Nang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, a total of 259.850 billion VND from the city’s budget is planned to be spent on upgrading local cultural works during this year.
To date, the upgrading of ward-level culture and sports facilities is nearly completed. These include entertainment areas in the wards of Hoa Cuong Bac, Thanh Binh, Hoa Thu Thuan Tay and Thuan Phuoc, along with culture and sports centres in the wards of Xuan Ha, Chinh Gian and An Hai Dong.

Upgrades to the General Science Library and the 29 March Park are expected to be completed in July.
Meanwhile, the upgrade of other municipal-level cultural buildings is scheduled to be completed in September. They include the city’s Fine Arts Museum, the Nguyen Hien Dinh Tuong Theatre, and the local communal village houses of Khue Bac, Huong Phuoc, An Hai Dong and Truc Bau. In addition, more equipment will be installed in the Trung Vuong Theatre. Special attention will also be paid to upgrading other culture and sports centres at ward and commune levels as part of the country’s rural area upgrade programme.
The city’s is striving to complete the first stage of the upgrade of local cultural works at the grassroots level by late this year.
