The official draw for the 4^th Da Nang Newspaper Football Tournament for primary and junior high school pupils took place on Thursday.  The tournament will run at the city’s Tien Son Sports Arena from 18-24 May.

This year’s tournament will see the participation of 16 teams who have all recorded outstanding achievements in sports activities in their schools over the past year.

The draw in progress

The results of the draw were as follows:

Group A: Trung Nu Vuong, Nguyen Du, Ngo Quyen and Ngo Gia Tu primary schools.

Group B: Tran Van On, Tran Quang Dieu, Hoa Son No 2 and Nguyen Binh Khiem primary schools.

Group C:  Hoang Dieu, Le Loi, Trung Vuong and Tran Quy Cap junior high schools

Group D:  Nguyen Binh Khiem, Nguyen Phu Huong, Phan Dinh Phung and Le Do junior high schools

Under the competition’s rules, the teams will compete in a round-robin format in the qualifying stages. 

On the opening day of the tournament, 18 May, there will be matches in groups A and B for the primary schools: Truong Nu Vuong v Nguyen Du (Group A), Ngo Quyen v Ngo Gia Tu (Group A), Tran Van On v Tran Quang Dieu (Group B), Hoa Son No 2 v Nguyen Binh Khiem (Group B).

The following day will feature the first matches in groups C and D for the junior high schools.
