The 4^th Da Nang Newspaper Football Tournament for primary and junior high school pupils ended on Sunday afternoon with 2 exciting finals.  The final for primary schools was between Nguyen Du and Ngo Gia Tu, and in the junior high schools’ final Le Loi met Nguyen Binh Khiem.

Speaking at the closing ceremony of the tournament, the Da Nang Newspaper Deputy Editor-in-Chief and Deputy Head of the Organising Board, Mr Le Quang A, said that the 7-day tournament featured a total of 30 exciting matches.  He added that the tournament created a useful playground for local primary and junior high school pupils.

Mr A praised the 16 teams for their enthusiastic participation and their spirit of fair play.  He also took the opportunity to thank the sponsors for their great contributions to the organisation of the event.  They were the Da Nang-Mien Trung Investment Company, the Fund of Vietnamese Football Talents, the city’s branches of the Viet Nam Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development and the Nhan Dan (People) Newspaper Printing Company, and the local Lottery and Financial Printing Service Company.

Winners Le Loi junior high school

In the competition for primary schools, Nguyen Du were crowned champions and took the gold medals, whilst Ngo Gia Tu received the silver medals.  Tran Quang Dieu and Nguyen Binh Khiem shared third place.

In the competition for junior schools, Le Loi were the winners, Nguyen Binh Khiem took the silver medals, and third place was shared by Nguyen Phu Huong and Tran Quy Cap.
