To celebrate the 65th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the 2 countries, a Viet Nam-Russia cultural exchange event took place at Da Nang’s Trung Vuong Theatre last Saturday.

The day was jointly organised by the Da Nang Union of Friendship Organisations, the city’s branch of the Viet Nam-Russia Friendship Association, the Consulate General of Russia in the city, the municipal Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the city’s Women’s Union, and the University of Da Nang.  Municipal People’s Committee Vice Chairman Nguyen Ngoc Tuan and Russian Consul General Valentin M Dikushin attended.

The day-long event featured the culinary arts of the 2 countries, Russian souvenirs and foods, Vietnamese and Russian-made products for export to each other, and items and services which are manufactured by joint ventures between Russian and Vietnamese businesses.

Also at the event, there was an exhibition of over 100 photos highlighting the bilateral friendship and cooperation between the 2 countries over the historical periods.

In the evening of the same day, audience members were deeply impressed by a special musical performance and fashion shows of Russian and Vietnamese traditional costumes which showed off the cultural values of the 2 countries.

Vice Chairman Tuan remarked that the programme was one of the meaningful events to advertise the image of Da Nang and Russia to their residents.  This would help to further deepen the traditional friendship and comprehensive strategic partnership between the 2 countries.
