'Da Nang - Summer Destination' programme attracts much attention from visitors
Under the ‘2015 Da Nang - Summer Destination’ programme, which took place from 22 June to 1 July, over 20 exciting cultural and sports activities were held mainly at the city’s East Sea Park on Pham Van Dong street.
The programme drew a great deal of attention from locals and visitors. In particular, the ‘2015 Color Me Run’, the first of its kind held in the city, was organised on 27 June with the participation of around 6,000 runners.
Most notable were the sand paintings on recycled tyres and face painting which were jointly organised by the city’s Young Fine Arts group and the local Events and Festivals Organising Centre. Many local residents, especially young people, were very interested in creating their own sand paintings or having their faces or arms painted by members from the Young Fine Arts group.

Since it was first launched in 2010, the ‘Da Nang - Summer Destination’ programme has become one of the city’s most eagerly awaited festivals. The annual event has become a cultural and sports festival, and gives an opportunity for local tourism businesses to meet and exchange their invaluable tourism experiences.
The Deputy Director of the municipal Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Mr Tran Chi Cuong, said that the programme plays a vital role in advertising maritime tourism products to international friends, and in making Da Nang a city of events.
