A Tuong (classical drama) street performance, the first of its kind in Da Nang, took place at the eastern end of the Han Bridge on Sunday evening.  Present at the special event was municipal People's Committee Vice Chairman Dang Viet Dung.

Local residents and visitors were treated to an impressive symphony orchestra concert and a lion dance entitled ‘Mau Xuat Lan Nhi’.  In addition, numerous Tuong extracts performed by artists from the Nguyen Hien Dinh Tuong Theatre were introduced to the audience.  They included ‘Ong Gia Cong Vo Di Xem Hoi’ (Old Man Carries His Wife Piggyback to The Spring Festival), and ‘Hao Khi Tay Son’ (Martial Spirit of Tay Son).

In addition, visitors were introduced to Tuong mask drawing art and dress codes, and they had the opportunity to have their photos taken in Tuong costumes, which were available for rent at prices ranging between 10,000 and 20,000 VND.

Tuong street performances will take place at 6.30pm every Sunday until late September at the eastern end of the Han Bridge.
