'Vietnamese Cultural Days' to take place in US in August

The ‘Vietnamese Cultural Days’ fest will be held in the U.S. next month, featuring numerous activities which highlight the Southeast Asian country’s long-standing culture and lifestyle.

The event, which will take place from August 8 to 12 in Washington, D.C. and New York City, aims at celebrating the 20th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations between Viet Nam and the U.S. (1995 - 2015).

The highlights of the event will be three artistic programs, which will be held on August 8 at the Terrace Theater in Washington and on August 10 and 11 at the Millennium Stage in that capital, introducing typical cultural characteristics of different regions and ethnic minority groups of Viet Nam, as well as the country’s special musical instrument and traditional clothes.

There will be a fashion show on August 9 at the Millennium Stage, featuring many collections of famed Vietnamese designers.
