Accelerating preparations for 5th Asian Beach Games
The national and Da Nang organising boards for the 5th Asian Beach Games (ABG 5) are jointly working to issue documents relating to this large-scale international event as soon as possible.
The official charter of ABG 5 and the rules of the 14 beach sports have already been submitted to the Olympic Council of Asia and the Asian Games Federation for approval before being released to the participating countries.
Early next year, the majority of the Vietnamese athletes competing in ABG 5 will start training in Da Nang in a bid to deliver their best performances at the upcoming event.

With regard to reception activities at ABG 5, at the end of this year about 1,500 volunteers, mainly from local universities, will be selected. They will be required to possess good health, foreign language proficiency and other soft skills. The selected volunteers will attend training courses about the beach sports, the unique cultures of the participating countries, and the tourism and cuisine programmes which will be held at ABG 5. In particular, they will gain a deep insight into traditional Vietnamese cultural values to effectively advertise the country’s image to international friends.
The National Organising Board for ABG 5 is now working closely with Viet Nam Television (VTV) to publicise the forthcoming event, with a focus on daily broadcasting a 5-minute TV programme on the VTV6 channel to provide up-to-date information on ABG 5 both before and during the event.
In addition, international press and TV centres will be established in the city as soon as possible in preparation for ABG 5.
