A press conference took place in Da Nang on Wednesday to introduce the National Tourism Year 2016 which will take place in Kien Giang Province in the Mekong Delta region.

The Year will have 'Exploring the Southern Land' as its theme.  A total of 40 tourism events will be held in Kien Giang Province and its Phu Quoc Island District, plus in other Mekong delta localities.  In addition, various exciting cultural and sporting activities will be organised in Ha Noi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, and the provinces of Lam Dong, Thua Thien-Hue, and Lao Cai.

The opening and closing ceremonies will take place respectively on 9 April and 24 December in Phu Quoc Island District.
