The highlight of the festival, held from April 29 to May 4, will be the opening night celebrating 710 years since the founding of Thuan Hoa-Phu Xuan (now Thua Thien-Hue Province).
Nguyen Dung, Deputy Chairman of the Thua Thien-Hue People's Committee, said that the organisers have carefully selected foreign art groups to take part in the upcoming event.
The six-day fest will boast various artistic performances from Vietnamese and foreign artists in the Hue Citadel, An Dinh Palace and other places in the Complex of Hue Monuments.
The festival will include several exhibitions featuring cultural icons, traditional games, and specialties from many localities across Viet Nam, thereby providing tourists with a better understanding of the Southeast Asian country.
Specifically, three world famous musicians including Yanni, Japanese New-Age musician Kitaro, and DJ Tiësto from the Netherlands will perform on Ngo Mon – Ky Dai Square and at Tu Do Stadium between April 29 and May 3.
The Hue Festival, the 9th of its kind, has become an event of national significance which aims to enhance cultural exchange between participating countries and promote local tourism.
