A special musical show entitled ‘I Love Viet Nam’s Sea and Islands’ recently took place at the city’s Bien Dong (East Sea) Park.  Jointly organised by the city’s Young Musicians’ Club and the Duong Viet My company, the event featured many popular songs about Viet Nam’s sea and islands.

The songs, with beautiful traditional Vietnamese melodies, were impressively performed by local singers and artistes.  They included 'Bien Pho Tinh Yeu' (Sea City of Love), ‘Thuyen Va Bien’ (Boats and Sea),’ Bien Hat Chieu Nay’ (The Sea Sings this Afternoon), ‘Bien Khat’ (Thirsty Sea), ‘Bien Tinh’ (Sea of Love), and ‘Tieng Song Bien’ (The Sound of Sea Waves).

Most notably, a total of over 70 million VND was raised at the event, donated by domestic and foreign organisations and individuals.  The money will go to help local poor fishermen in order to encourage them to continue their fishing activities in Vietnamese waters after the recent spate of mass fish deaths.
