According to a plan by the municipal Department of Tourism, there will be a total of 6 tourism advertisement activities in the mass media, and 13 support activities within the framework of ABG5.  Top priority will be given to offering tourism publications and gifts at the ABG5’s conferences, as well as placing the city’s tourism banner on the official ABG5 website, the city’s Tourism Port, and its Facebook and Instagram addresses.

In addition, tourist information desks will be installed at the East Sea Park, My Khe and Thuy Son bathing areas, and the Phuong Trang urban beach.  A video clip entitled ‘Da Nang Tourism going along with ABG5’ will also be produced.  In addition, special local cultural activities will be introduced such as coracle racing, 'bai choi' (singing while acting as playing cards), and Tuong (classic drama) performances.

Vice Chairman Dung stressed the need for local relevant agencies to work together to promote the publicity and advertisement activities before, during, and after ABG5.  Special attention should be paid to advertising the city’s must-visit tourist attractions to international athletes, and ensuring the success of the event.  This will help to leave a deep impression on them and advertise the beautiful images of local tourism to their accompanying members and international media agencies.

On the same day, a delegation from the Vietnamese Ministry of Health, led by Dr Luong Ngoc Khue who is the Head of the Medical Examination and Treatment Department, met with representatives from the municipal Department of Health in the city to discuss the medical preparations for ABG5.

The Director of the local Health Department, Mrs Ngo Thi Kim Yen, said that 26 emergency teams of medical workers, possessing professional skills and foreign language proficiency, will be set up at the competing areas and hotels.  Each hospital across the city has already established an emergency team and made plans for unexpected situations such as natural disasters, fires and explosions, and mass food poisoning.

Dr Khue praised the Department for its great medical preparatory work.  He also urged the local health sector to increase its checks over water quality, environmental hygiene and food safety, as well as to control and eradicate any outbreaks.
